Spice Up Your Cardio
Try these training methods to improve results and body comp:
Fartlek Training: Fartlek training is all about randomness- constantly change, speed, resistance, time of intervals and incline. Fartlek prevents boredom while delivering superior results.
Intervals: Try 1 minute training at 90% of your max heart rate followed by 1 min of slow recovery. Research shows this improves cardio fitness and burns tons of fat!
Long and Slow: Long slow cardio sessions build endurance and teach your body to burn a higher percentage of fat for energy.
Pace Training:Find the pace you sustain for more than a few minutes, then practice running at that pace for 10-30 minutes at a time.
High Intensity/ Fast Pace Strength Training:Try exercises like boxing, ropes, burpees, etc. that both raise your heart rate and stimulate muscle growth. It's a nice way to cross train while encouraging muscle repair.
Cross-train:Mix in the bike, elliptical, swimming and other forms of cardio to switch things up and reduce the likelihood of overuse injuries.
